High ceilings and expansive windows bring the Lapland landscape into the villa, while natural wood, stone and refined contemporary interiors create a warm and distinctive atmosphere. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is the heart of the house — a place for long breakfasts, dinners together and relaxed evenings after a day outdoors.
Villa Minna is designed for families and friends who value time together as well as their own space. Sleeping areas are arranged across two levels, and the upper floor has its own WC, TV and dedicated workspace.
Just a few steps across the terrace, the separate private sauna suite offers a retreat of its own, with a Finnish sauna, walk-in shower and space to unwind. The sauna heater is always ready, with no waiting.
Cross-country ski trails are close by, and the Ylläs ski slopes and the restaurants, shops and services of Äkäslompolo village are only a few minutes away by car.

Villa Minna is furnished to the highest PolarVillas standard, in Scandinavian design with carefully chosen details. Iittala glasses, plates, tableware and cups turn a laid table into a moment, Secto Design lighting gives the evening a warm, calm glow, and an atmospheric electric fireplace with a large-screen TV and Sonos sound system completes the living room. Upstairs has its own TV and a dedicated workspace.
Together with the sauna suite and a fully equipped kitchen, it is a house where a party of eight feels at home.
Nature begins at the doorstep
Villa Minna is set high on the hillside above Äkäslompolo, directly beside Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
Kellokas Nature Centre is only a few hundred metres away. From here you can access hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing routes, as well as a café, fish shop, bike rental and a traditional kota shelter where you can stop by the fire.
An illuminated cross-country ski trail also runs close to the villa and connects easily into the wider Ylläs trail network.
The surrounding forest is part of the experience. Reindeer are a familiar sight throughout the year, and from the villa you can step almost directly into the nature of Finnish Lapland.
Close to the slopes and village
The Ylläs ski area is approximately 2.2 km away, around four minutes by car.
The centre of Äkäslompolo is approximately 3.8 km away, with restaurants, shops, cafés and a supermarket.
Getting around is easy even without your own car. The ski bus connects the area with the slopes and village, and taxis are available in Äkäslompolo. It is also possible to walk down to the village and take a taxi back to the villa.
Villa Minna's elevated location has another special feature in winter. During calm and clear weather, temperature inversion can make the hillside noticeably milder than the village below.
Kittilä Airport is approximately 49 km away.
Villa Minna offers the best of both sides of Ylläs: peaceful Lapland nature right outside the door, and the slopes, restaurants and village life of Äkäslompolo within easy reach.

Villa Minna is one half of a semi-detached villa. We ask guests to be considerate of the neighbours, especially in the evening.
The ski area and the village are a short drive away. Parking is free, in a covered carport, and there is an electric vehicle charger.
In the winter months, snow and Arctic conditions are part of the Lapland experience.
Managed by Minna Lappalainen, with professional cleaning and guest service. Easy to reach, before and during your stay.
